New Update 1

Atypical Anorexia Therapy

Atypical Anorexia is characterized by a pattern of disordered eating that does not accompany a significantly low body weight in the way that Anorexia Nervosa does. The difference is that individuals with Atypical Anorexia have a “normal” or above-average height-to-weight ratio. Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder OSFED (Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder) is recognized as one of the most common types of eating disorders and one of which people least often seek help for due to the absence of an underweight appearance. Despite not appearing underweight, those struggling with Atypical Anorexia often suffer from the same physical and mental health issues as those of Anorexia Nervosa, including but not limited to a severe restriction of caloric intake, dieting, and over-exercise to mitigate risk of weight gain.

Our team provides solutions for a wide variety of eating disorders, including Anorexia Therapy but not limited to Atypical Anorexia, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia, and Anorexia Nervosa, all treated using a comprehensive, evidence-based approach focused on long-term results. It is our priority to help our clients learn, understand, and implement adaptive coping skills and sustainable, intuitive eating practices to counteract the negative effects that eating disorders often have on the mind and body. At Orange County Eating Disorder Therapist Group, we offer extensive nutrition and mental health counseling employing registered dieticians and licensed psychotherapists. Our team offers compassionate, supportive care to help clients feel empowered to overcome their mental health struggles and live the life they desire.

New Update 2

Binge Eating Disorder Treatment

Binge Eating Disorder is characterized by repeated episodes of binge eating, during which an individual consumes large amounts of food quickly and feels a lack of control over their eating. Binge eating is often accompanied by feelings of shame and guilt, and individuals with this disorder often have a distorted body image and are overly concerned with their weight. Eating disorders can be complex and vary significantly from person to person. Our eating disorder therapists and dietitians are trained to address the unique needs of each individual and use a range of evidence-based therapies and nutrition support to help our clients achieve lasting recovery. Treatment may include individual therapy, family therapy, and nutrition therapy. Our goal is to help individuals overcome their eating disorders, develop a positive self-image, and restore a healthy relationship with food.
